Why we built it

Snapchat Memories shows you a photo from a year ago — wrapped in a feed, ads, friend graph, algorithmic surprise. We wanted the opposite: a small ritual you own. One photo. One theme. A clean recap at the end of the year. Nothing else.

Lapse is private by default. Your photos live in SwiftData on your iPhone. No accounts. No upload. No algorithm. One payment, yours forever.
