Why we built it

Snapchat Memories shows you a photo from a year ago — wrapped in a feed, ads, friend graph, algorithmic surprise. We wanted the opposite: a small ritual you own. One photo. One theme. A clean recap at the end of the year. Nothing else.

DailyLapse is private by default. Your photos live in SwiftData on your iPhone. No accounts. No upload. No algorithm. DailyLapse Pro is optional and managed by Apple subscriptions.

What's inside

• Daily capture — one frame a day, tap to snap or pick from your library. PhotosPicker, on-device.
• Themes — beard growth, kid's height, coffee streak, WFH desk. Pick what to track.
• Year-end recap — AVFoundation stitches every photo into a square cinematic MP4. Save to Photos.
• Private by design — SwiftData on-device storage. No accounts. No analytics SDK.

What's not inside

• No algorithmic feed. No "Discover" tab.
• No social graph. No friends. No leaderboards.
• No third-party trackers. No analytics SDKs. No crash SDKs.
• No social network, ads, or cloud account.

Pricing

DailyLapse is free for one active theme and a 720p year-end recap. DailyLapse Pro offers monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions for multiple themes, custom themes, 1080p HD recap export, and theme migration.
